Park in the Valcano

While we were in Naples, we went to Carney Park. It was a great park and I wish we would have found it sooner so we could have gone a few times. We found out that there are cabins you can stay in right at the park. If we go back to Naples, we will stay here. The cool thing about this park is that it is inside a dormant volcano!!! The first picture is of a house that is on the inside of the volcano. The US government & NATO rent the grounds from the owners of this house. You have to be a military or NATO ID card holder to enter. There is a gate with guards and all! The pictures I took didn't turn out very well and these were the best ones. It's hard to tell that we are inside a volcano. The park has an outdoor swimming pool, soccer field, softball fields, golf course, cabins, lots of shelters with picnic tables and picnic tables all over, sand volleyball court and lots of playground equipment all over the place. The kids were in heaven and even made a few friends along the way.

It's Beach Time

While Tyler was gone over Memorial Day Weekend, we headed to the beach. It was a little windy and overcast which made it cold, but that didn't stop the kids from playing in the sand and having fun. We can't wait to go back when it's actually sunny and we can get in the water.

Randomness

Cade and I happen to be outside when we heard the jets returning from the TDY to Israel. Cade LOVES airplanes and it had been almost a month since he last saw the jets flying around our house. He was so excited to see them again. I wish I would have been faster in getting the camera so I could capture his excitement.

The mosquitos are HORRIBLE here!!! We were outside for less than 10 minutes and Cade got eaten alive. He had 2 bites by his eye, one on his eyebrow and the other under his eye. They got so swollen, that it looked like he had his eye closed. Thank goodness it went away after 2 days.

Lily LOVES to play dress up and put on makeup. I need to work with
her on how to put it on though.

Lily and her friend Isabelle decided to include Cade in on the fun.

I will not teach Cade how to put make up on!!

This is Cade keeping his food safe from Sammy.

Cade's favorite hiding place

Cade's FAVORITE past time, playing airplanes with dadda

Return From Israel

Tyler was able to go on a TDY to Israel for about a month. Lily is pretty use to Tyler going on trips, but Cade had a really hard time. Happy doesn't even begin to describe how Cade has felt since Tyler has been home. He sure loves his daddy.

Tyler is showing Lily a map of Israel and the places he was able to see. She was
interested, but all she wanted was her present. Tyler was being mean and kept
stalling but eventually did give her the bracelets he bought her.
Yes...they are eating ice cream sandwiches on MY bed!!!

Cade would not leave Tyler's side. He had a melt down when he realized Tyler wasn't around and started crying for dadda. He calmed down a little when I told him he had to go "peepee". However, he did open the bathroom door and join him. Like I said, he couldn't leave his side.

Favorite Bakery

One danger of Italy is all the food. Pasta, pizza, gelato and all the goodies at a bakery. We have a bakery that is within walking distance of our home. Our new tradition is to go every Saturday morning for some yummy pastries. I have to limit us to once a week or we will be getting very large in body weight!! The kids love to go and the owners love our kids. We went this past Saturday and I asked if they could teach me how to make some pastries. They were happy that I wanted to learn. We'll see if they will give me lessons.

Are you kidding me??????

One day when we came home from church, we found a little bug in our kitchen. He thought he was going to be our new roommate, but we had other plans for him. At first, Tyler thought it was dead, but as soon as Tyler blew on it, the "bug" started to run backwards. We had no idea that scorpions could tun backwards!! It scared all of us pretty good. We laugh about it now though.

This is the shoe that sent him to heaven:

Neighborhood

Here are a few pictures we took as we went for a walk in our neighborhood. Every town/village, has it's own church which is usually in the town centre. The church bells ring every hour and sometimes in between. One of my favorite things is to hear the church bells. They are a beautiful sound. When you are close to the church, they are very loud though.

Our house

The gate to our house. It's hard to see but there is a name on the wall.
Our house has a name!
The side of our house. Our neighbor's side yard has some fruit trees and grape vines.

Street that our house is on, Via Conditta
One of my many favorite things about the houses in Italy are the flower boxes in the windows. It makes a house so pretty.

Small cafe
Budoia church - sorry I couldn't get the pictures to turn

This is what most the streets look like. It seems like it is something out of the movies.
