We got some more details from when he was born until we adopted him. He was born one month early. The parents were not ready for this and so after a few days of having him they asked the grandma to take him. She took him for a few days until it was too much for her. She is also taking care of her sick husband. She paid someone to take Cade and take care of him. These people did not do a good job. They pretty much fed him and would change him. They would leave him alone and let him cry for hours and hours. We believe they had him for just under 2 months. We think the Grandma found out that the people weren't really taking care of him and she asked the preacher for help. The preacher and a few of the other members of the congregation took care of him for 3 days. Apparently this was a very hard 3 days. Cade would cry all the time. One of the women said she held him for an hour and he wouldn't stop crying. They were very concerned about his emotional state because he hadn't been taken care of. When we picked Cade up at the church, the women were very worried about how we would do with such a hard baby. They told us that they still pray for KiSung everyday.
What a relief for these women to see that Cade is now a happy baby. He just needed some stability and love. We still have our moments where he wants to be held all the time, but I think that is normal of all babies.
What a joyful day we had. There was much laughter and much love shared today. What wonderful people!! We will visit with them again before we leave in December. They will be so happy to see Cade walking and talking more then. We are forever grateful for these wonderful Korean people and their desire to do good by this little baby.
